Ouch!

So, I in no way want to put out the message that I think i'm "fat" but I have gained weight and well, I don't exactly like it. I have gained a few pounds and when you are short like me, its noticeable! It was really frustrating to me because I have cut out all soda, I do some light indoor exercises like lunges, squats and crunches, I stopped snacking like I used to and started paying more attention to my portion sizes at mealtime. I assumed this would help to shake those extra pounds off in 2 weeks..wrong. My body needs more apparently!

If you know me you know:

 1) I LOVE food...like seriously, I love it. I love to make it. I love to serve it. I love to eat it.
 2) Im pretty girly. I don't like to get all sweaty
 3) I used to run a little, I don't mind doing crunches BUT I do not enjoy working out ..AT ALL

These 3 things were bound to catch up with me eventually, Im just glad to catch it early on and change my attitude.

That being said...I asked Brian to very patiently help me to workout. We started last night with a crossfit style workout where you go at it hard and give it your all for a short amount of time. Since it was my first time we only did 10 minutes. Oh my Im feeling it! My legs feel like wet noodles my core is super sore and my arms are pulsing with pain! I have to say, I really enjoyed doing something new with Brian that he loved and there is NO way that type of workout wont make a difference over time. As sore as I am , Im looking forward to doing it again tonight!

Moral of the story: I love food way too much to completely cut out the foods I love. Its worth the hard work to have the shape I want and the food!

  1. I. Hear. Ya. I hate working out too, so naturally, I became a fitness instructor! Say what?! It seemed the only way that I will FOR SURE exercise! I've found yoga to be my love. Have you tried it? So relaxing! By the end, you feel like you've been to the spa instead of to the gym. Until the next morning. When you can't move without pain. Ha! Good luck!

  2. So glad Im not alone. I wont lie, I get intimidated when I see "fitness" in the title or description of a blog! Im hoping my husband will keep me motivated and accountable in this attitude change towards fitness.

I havent tried yoga yet but thought about getting a video and trying it out at home. Trust me, after last nights workout I was useless for the rest of the night! Sore muscles are my new best friend!

    Thank you for stopping by!

  3. preach it sister.
there are so many times i get too hard on myself about my weight...because ya, i got married and gained some. however, there's a saying that i've coined and keep using: i can and need to be more active, but i'd rather die fat and happy than skinny and mad at the world.

:) blessings sweet girl! and you go!
